As Commercial Analyst, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing analytical support to Investment, PPA Origination, and Commercial Optimization teams

  • Performing various data analytics of the historically observed patterns and relationships within the renewable energy power market

  • Building and operating quantitative models for renewable energies

  • Optimizing commercial agreements and participation in auctions and subsidy schemes through quantitative analysis

  • Researching on different markets characteristics (such as ancillary services, intraday)

  • Procuring and critically challenging third-party price forecasts (power, PPA, GoO, FX etc.)

  • Acting as central manager and distributor of forward, fundamental, and PPA prices

  • Critically challenging all activities to continuously increase the Tion’s positive impact

  • Taking responsibility and running your own projects from initial research to implementation

For this role, ideally, you bring:

  • An impeccable academic track record in subjects such as Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Math, or Natural Sciences

  • A thorough understanding of European energy markets and renewable energy, experience with storage modelling would be a plus

  • At least two years of work experience in quantitative analysis in energy trading or similar field applying fundamental and/or stochastic analysis

  • Prior experience in stochastic or fundamental energy market modelling

  • The ability to clearly articulate results and insights

  • Strong skills in coding (Python skills would be a plus)

  • Strong skills in Excel, Word & PowerPoint

  • Great passion and curiosity for accelerating the energy transition

  • Motivation to have a lasting impact and an entrepreneurial and performance-driven mindset

  • A structured way of working and a team player mentality

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

  • German, Spanish, Italian or Polish would be a plus
